How a session works

Start the app

After the download you open VDB Remote. A window appears with a large connection code.

Share the code

You give us the code by phone, WhatsApp or email. Only whoever has the code can connect.

Confirm the request

On the connection attempt the app asks you again. Only with your click do we see the screen.

We help live

You see the cursor and everything that is done. You can stop any time. At the end you close the app and the connection is gone.

Installation instructions per device

Windows: installation
  1. Click "Download for Windows" above, the file vdbremotewin.exe lands in the Downloads folder.
  2. Double-click the file. Windows may show a blue warning because the installer is not signed with a paid Microsoft certificate.
  3. In the warning click "More info" and then "Run anyway". The app starts right away, nothing is installed permanently.
  4. The connection code appears. Share it with us. Done.

The warning appears because the app does not have a paid Microsoft signature, the same reason many small tools trigger this message. The file is clean, you can call us in advance if you want a confirmation.

macOS: installation
  1. Click "Download for Mac" above, the file vdbremoteosx-arm64.dmg lands in your Downloads folder.
  2. Double-click the DMG file, a window opens. Drag the VDB Remote icon into the "Applications" folder.
  3. Open Applications, right-click VDB Remote and choose "Open". The first launch, macOS asks for confirmation.
  4. Click "Open" in the dialog. The app starts, the connection code appears. Share it with us. Next time a double-click is enough.

The right-click on the first launch is needed because the app does not go through the App Store. macOS remembers the permission, after that the app launches like any other.

Android: installation
  1. Click "Download for Android" above. The file vdbremoteandroid.apk is loaded onto the phone.
  2. Tap the downloaded file. Android asks once whether the browser is allowed to install apps from unknown sources.
  3. Confirm with "Allow". The install runs through in a few seconds.
  4. Open VDB Remote. The connection code appears. Share it with us. Done.

The prompt appears because the app is not delivered through Play Store. That is normal for small-vendor tools, the app is only loaded from vandebeat.com.

The connection is encrypted from your device all the way to us. Nobody in between can read along.

Only with your OK

Without the code, which only you have, nobody gets in. On every connection the app asks you again.

No background access

When the app is not running, nothing is reachable. On close the connection is gone right away, no autostart service.

Common questions about remote support

Is remote support charged to me?

The app is free. The time we spend together on the screen is billed at our hourly rate. For clients with a maintenance subscription the time is included in the package.

Do I have to install the app?

On Windows no, it runs as a portable EXE without installation. On macOS and Android it is installed classically, so you can open it quickly next time.

Do you see everything on the screen?

Yes, we see your screen the way you see it. Please close private windows, open mail or banking data first. You watch every action live and can stop at any time.

Can we also transfer files?

Yes, small files can be transferred inside the session, for example error logs or templates. Larger files are better shared by email or cloud, so the session stays fast.

Is this a TeamViewer alternative?

Yes, for everyday support cases VDB Remote works the same way, but without an account requirement, without ads and without monthly cost for you. If you already use TeamViewer or AnyDesk and prefer to stay there, just say so.

What about the Windows warning?

That is SmartScreen. It appears because the app has no paid Microsoft signature. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway". The install guide above walks you through it step by step.
